Make sure you are prepared this hurricane season.
- Make a list of needed items and to do's BEFORE an actual hurricane.
- Stay informed by monitoring NOAA weather updates, local TV & radio broadcasts, and websites during the storm season. Track upcoming hurricanes and storms.
- Prepare a supply kit. This kit should include a radio, flashlight, extra batteries, extra eye glasses, bottled water, non-perishable food, dry clothes, bedding, insurance information, important documents, medications, copies of prescriptions and special products for babies, the elderly and medically fragile family members.
- Know your evacuation routes. Keep your gas tank as full as possible when storms are in the Gulf. View evacuation routes and maps for All Coastal Areas, Beaumont, Corpus Christi, Houston, Pharr, Yoakum.
- If you have special health care needs or if you simply do not have transportation register by dialing 2-1-1. Gulf Coast residents in evacuation zones with special health care needs and without other transportation are required to register in advance for a ride by dialing 2-1-1.
- If you wish to report a power outage or power-related emergency, you may contact Tara Energy (1-866-438-8272) or report it directly to the Transmissions & Distribution Service Provider (TDSP) that services your local lines.
